Icarus was a recurring theme for Marvin. I think he just liked the hutzpah it took to try and reach the sun — a definite miscalculation.
I probably should have taken the photo to include the mat edges so you can see how this looks in a mat – It’s printed from 2 separate woodblocks, and I think the sun came from some other piece, I’m not sure. Marvin loved repurposing!
