It’s funny for me to think back to when palm trees were exotic plants for me… I have a photograph of me under a big palm on the banks of the Intracoastal Waterway in Jupiter, FL, when my mom flew me down there to visit her back in, what, 1988? I had never been to Florida before, and while I might have seen palm trees on a family vacation when I was 9, I had no memory of them. Marvin carved this block in commemoration of that first palm tree, and because everyone should have a palm or two in their own Periodic Tables!
